While I was back at ARRL HQ for my Section Manager training session, I had the opportunity to operate the W1AW station. It was one of the things on my bucket list…..and now it is checked off. The station is unbelievable to say the least since it has the best of everything. There are multiple stations, but we couldn’t work some of them due to an antenna(s) issue they were working on.  I was able to work the station for 15 minutes during a PA contest and made a lot of contacts. The funny thing is one station I worked actually asked who I was and where I was. I guess that person just got their license that day. Amateur radio equipment companies donated all the equipment to support ARRL and make the station as great as it is. See main page banner for a photo of me working the station.
